GEJA’S CAFÉ presents Penfolds Winemaker Dinner

CHICAGO— On Monday, July 9th, Geja’s Café, 340 West Armitage, invites guests to enjoy a fondue dinner paired with fine wines from Australia’s most popular winery, Penfolds. The Penfolds Winemaker Dinner, part of Geja’s Café’s ongoing popular 2012 Winemaker Dinner series, will be a special and informative event featuring John Hartford, a representative on hand to provide commentary and answer questions on the wines. To help set the scene, Geja’s live flamenco/classical guitarist will strum romantic music throughout the evening.

Penfolds is Australia’s most famous winery and you will have the opportunity to enjoy their 2007 Penfolds Cellar RSV Pinot Noir, their 2009 Bin 389 Shiraz/Cabernet blend; then their 2009 Bin 28 Shiraz. With Geja’s famous chocolate fondue you will enjoy the Penfolds Club Tawny Port. The ideal way to finish the evening is to roast marshmallows, dip them in chocolate and then in to graham cracker crumbs. “Enjoy that first bite of the perfect marshmallow with a sip of the Tawny Port,” says Jeff Lawler, Geja’s Café Managing Partner.

The evening begins with a 6:30 reception followed by dinner at 7:00 with a lively discussion of the evening’s wines. The four-course dinner features Geja's house Salad, Cheese Fondue, Beef Tenderloin, Chicken & Jumbo Shrimp Entree, and Flaming Chocolate Fondue for dessert. Each course will be paired with the appropriate all-you-can-drink wine. Cost for each dinner is $55 per person, which includes the wines, dinner, tax, and gratuity. Reservations are required for the dinners, and interested parties are encouraged to act quickly as the popular Winemaker Dinners tend to sell out.
