GeekUp Sheffield takes place on the first Wednesday of every month. It's a grass-roots knowledge sharing and networking social for folks involved or interested in all forms of technology and creative media.

This month.
- Huddle: Semantic Web Primer (Ian Ibbotson)
Kicking off a new GeekUp series on semantic web, starting off with core concepts and ideas, why the semantic web matters, and when it will change your life.
- Sheffield Geeks Calendar 2009 (Jag Gill)
A look ahead to some of the events and plans for the local tech community in the coming year, including a serialisation of BarCamp Sheffield's Hackers Delight, what's going on and how you can get involved.
- Predict and Resolve
Share your technology predictions and resolutions for 2009 with the rest of the Sheffield Geek community. Find out if anyone here can help you achieve them.

We're also pleased to announce the winner of the BarCamp Sheffield and Yorkshire Forward competition to promote Sheffield, both of whom will be at the event.

What is GeekUp?
GeekUp is a community of tech-minded folk from the North of England. Our socials take place once a month in Leeds, Liverpool, Manchester, Preston and Sheffield and are always a lively place to share ideas and spread a little knowledge.

This looks like a great session, unfortunately I'll be seeing Mighty Boosh that night. Will the notes/presentations be posetd afterwards for review?

Dang. Never did get to discuss Semantic Web stuff at BarCamp Sheffield. Could someone let me know what comes out of this?
