The Electronic Frontier Foundation is hosting another Geek Reading on September 21 at 111 Minna Gallery!

7 PM Geek Reading with xkcd Creator Randall Munroe

Our next EFF Geek Reading features Randall Munroe, creator of the cult webcomic xkcd! Reddit and Breadpig founder Alexis Ohanian will be emceeing the event, which will include a visual presentation as well as an interview portion. Questions will be culled from the top-voted comments at http://www.reddit.com/comments/9ihy8/ask_randall_munroe_xkcd_anything_hear_him_answer. Randall is on tour promoting "xkcd: Volume 0" which will be available for purchase and signing at the event.

Randall, a former contractor for NASA, began xkcd in 2005 while attending university. Described as "a webcomic of romance, sarcasm, math, and language," it is currently translated into three languages and is available under the Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial 2.5 License. It receives between 60 and 70 million page views per month.

6 PM VIP Reception: Meet xkcd Creator Randall Munroe!

Join us for an intimate VIP reception from 6 PM to 7 PM, prior to the Geek Reading. Attendees will receive a copy of Randall's book, wine and cheese, and admission to the reading, as well as a rare chance to meet and mingle with Randall and have books/swag autographed! Attendees must be 21 or over. Admission for the VIP Reception (Geek Reading entry included) is $100. Only 50 tickets are available for this pre-event party, so buy yours today!
