GASPARILLA PAGEANT AND FASHION FESTIVAL DATES ANNOUNCED - Organizers announced the first-ever Gasparilla Fashion Festival, to be held in conjunction with the annual Gasparilla Pageant (now in its third year).

This year, the event will be held at the fabulous Tampa Convention Center on Sunday, February 22nd and promises to be a gala that defines the Tampa Bay Tradition of Pirate finery. Tickets are currently available.

"The Fashion Festival is a chance for local emerging designers to show their creations to the general public and buyers. We're seeking additional sponsors and designers currently.", states Kate Williams, Festival Director. "The Gasparilla Pageant is how we find our models - It's a fun, public event that focuses on discovering modeling potential and talent."

The Pageant is held each year and is open to the general public. They're looking for "supermodels" and standouts for future projects. Space is limited and is on a first come basis. Some particpant are those who have recently competed in Pasco County events and the Kumquat Festival Pageants, as well as the Strawberry Festival Pageants. Perks for participants are great prizes, modeling contracts, appearances and the chance to take part in Gasparilla-themed events and parades, as well as to represent Tampa Bay all year long. "Last year's winners had some awesome opportunities. Our Ms. Gasparilla actually was the Tampa Bay Deal or No Deal gal...We're very proud of the royalty we have had over the years!" Williams adds.
