Garis & Hahn presents its Inaugural Exhibition: After the Fall January 11, 2013

Garis & Hahn is very pleased to present After the Fall, an exhibition of photography by Gideon Barnett, Felix R. Cid, Pao Houa Her, Matthew Monteith, Yorgos Prinos, Hrvoje Slovenc and Monika Sziladi curated by Andrea Pemberton. After the Fall marks the opening of Garis & Hahn, a new gallery space on the Bowery.

This exhibition speaks to the constantly evolving variety of new techniques in the medium of photography today. In a range of distinct styles, these seven artists are exploring innovative permutations of the staged, the candid and the constructed. While technically, their work challenges the distinction in contemporary photography between truth and fiction, this group of artists is ultimately linked by the idea that reality will always be more powerful than anything we could possibly imagine.
