Garbage on the Green October 26, 2011

UNF will “showcase” its campus garbage on the university Student Union plaza green in the school’s fifth trash and recycling audit. Bags of trash will be collected from different campus locations so that they can be sorted and catalogued by weight, volume and content. The University-sponsored event is aimed at educating students, faculty and staff about ways to reduce campus trash through recycling and litter-prevention practices. The event includes entertainment and information on environmental issues. Volunteers (staff/faculty/students) help sort and weigh material on the day of the event. Faculty are encouraged to incorporate this event into their Fall classes where appropriate.
