Garam Hawa - FIlm (1973). Directed by M. S. Sathyu. Cast - Balraj Sahni, Farooq Shaikh, Shaukat Azmi and others. Garam Hawa is based on Ismat Chugtai's story. The screenplay by Kaifi Azmi and Shama Zaidi captures the trauma of Partition for a Muslim family living in Agra . Those troubled times are evoked with fidelity, and the characters, especially the lead role played by Balraj Sahni, are masterfully drawn. This film, according to Satyajit Ray, can be hailed as a landmark in Hindi cinema for its story alone.
