Cymbidiums begin their blooming period in March and nurseries are overflowing with these exotic plants that can thrive in our climate - if you know what they need. Always wanted to try them? Have one that was gorgeous, but now isn't? No luck with the ubiquitous phaleonopsis? Ed Holm will teach us about temperature requirements, repotting, light and fertilizer, and demonstrate techniques for cultivating these beauties in our Bay Area gardens and homes. Bring your orchid plants with you and Ed will answer your questions.

Ed Holm taught the popular hydrangea care class at Gamble Garden in September. He has a degree in forest management and taught biology and horticulture in San Mateo for 35 years. Ed has been on the Board of Trustees of the Saratoga Horticultural Research Foundation since 1995 and is a member of the California Native Plant Society and the California Horticulture Society. His articles have appeared in Phytopathology and Pacific Horticulture.
