The "Sunday Afternoons with Robert Frost" series comes to an end on October 26 with a reading and discussion by the acclaimed poet, teacher and lecturer Galway Kinnell. Kinnell was Vermont?s state poet from 1989 to 1993, and is a former recipient of a Guggenheim Fellowship and a MacArthur "genius grant." In 1982 his Selected Poems won both the Pulitzer Prize and the National Book Award. Kinnell will read his tribute to the nation?s most well loved and best known poet, along with selections from Frost?s works together with others of his own, culled from his more than five published books of poetry. All are welcome at this free program, which closes the 2003 speaker series, which has been sponsored by the nonprofit Friends of Robert Frost and funded in part by a grant from the Vermont Humanities Council. For more information, contact Carole Thompson through the Robert Frost Stone House Museum in Shaftsbury, at 802-447-6200.
