This September Yaga’s Entertainment Inc. will bring foodies a little taste of Heaven at the Galveston Island Shrimp Festival to be held September 23-25. Featuring some of the best shrimp gumbo the Gulf Coast has to offer, this year’s festival has been expanded from Galveston’s downtown historic district to include a concert on Pier 21 featuring Austin’s own Bob Schneider and Nakia from NBC’s The Voice.

Other additions to the festival include a boat and RV show, Blessing of the Fleet and Boat Parade on Galveston’s harbor. The Galveston Boat & RV show will kick-off Shrimp Festival activities beginning at 5 p.m. Friday, Sept. 23. Advance tickets are available online for $8 at www.galvestonboatshow.com

The shrimp gumbo cook-off, a 5K Shrimp Scamper Fun Run, a kid’s parade and live entertainment will be held in downtown Galveston on Saturday, Sept. 23. Public sampling of gumbos from more than 80 amateur and professional restaurant cook teams will begin at noon.

The Jumbo Shrimp Jam concert – to feature the diverse sounds of Austin artist Bob Schneider and the soulful tunes of nationally acclaimed vocalist Nakia – will be held at 7 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 24 on Pier 21. Advance tickets are available at a discounted rate of $18 each or $16 each when you buy a 4-pack online at ww.yagaspresents.com/shrimpfestival.
