SUNDAY SCENE
Gallery Talk: Stefan Kipfer
In major cities in Europe and North America, notions of creativity ( 1C;the creative class, 1D; 1C;cultural capital 1D;) have become instrumental for strategies of land valorization and economic competitiveness. U of T professor Stefan Kipfer offers an alternative way of thinking about creativity in the city: French radical philosopher Henri Lefebvre 19;s notion of the city as a collective work of art. Kipfer relates Lefevbre 19;s ideas to the We Can Do This Now exhibition.
