Sherway Gardens (Hwy 427 & the QEW) current Gallery in the Garden exhibit entitled “Last Flight” showcases two photographers’ understanding of the perfect moment. Antoni Lukowicz and Sherry Prenevost engage your interest by capturing the world’s true beauty, by providing a sudden glimpse of an ideal colour and composition. They present you with some thought provoking images to stir your senses. The exhibit is on display until July 9 in the corridor at door 3. For more information call 416-621-1070 or visit www.sherwaygardens.ca.

The title of the show “Last Flight” is also the title of one of Etobicoke’s Antoni Lukowicz’s photographs, a rising cloud of birds spiralling away from a ruin in the closing light of day. Born in Krakow, Poland in 1957, Antoni graduated with a Masters in Computer Science. In 1990, he and his family immigrated to Canada from Europe and he has been living in Toronto ever since. Photography has always been his passion since the eighth grade and he has worked as a photographer for several years in Poland, Germany and Canada. Antoni gave up his dream for almost 20 years, but thanks to digital photography he returned to his passion.

Mississauga resident Sherry Prenevost has witnessed many remote and wondrous places on earth and captures the environment and culture as a means to explore diversity and bring an understanding of differences. She travels across the globe working to preserve, protect and promote sustainability of peoples, nature and humanity by utilizing photography to convey the interconnectedness of it all and traveled as a photographer on an Archaeological Expedition to the Andes Mountains in Peru. Sherry’s work has been featured by Born Free, International Aid Agencies, on the documentary Listen To The Children, in Canadian Franchise Magazine, the Toronto Star and TFO Television to name a few. The Queen of England and the President of Sierra Leone have her work in their collections. Proceeds from the sale of Sherry’s works will be used to bring support, education and hope to children and environment in areas of greatest need locally, nationally and internationally.
