Gabriel Kahane is not part of a scene. He writes string quartets and musicals and pop songs, and his heart is fully in all of those endeavors. Equally at home as a performer as in the composing studio, Gabriel was hailed by the Los Angeles Times earlier this year for "an all around dazzling performance" in his debut at Walt Disney Concert Hall with the Los Angeles Philharmonic (in the premiere of his song cycle Orinoco Sketches, conducted by John Adams). Performance highlights of last season included concerts with Chris Thile, Brad Mehldau, Alisa Weilerstein, and appearances at the Vail, Caramoor, and Aspen summer festivals.

Leming wrote and began recording "What You've Taken" with Secondhand Serenade's John Vesely and Tom Breyfogle, who have proven their own independent success. The single brings Leming's history of lyrical reflexivity, aggressive chords and melodic vocals' directly to the frontline.

Leming now handles his career entirely himself. He has a a viral Internet fan base. Leming made his debut on Season 7 of American Idol where he gained a hefty fan base and self-released and sold over 60,000 digital copies of old recordings on MySpace. Shortly after, he signed with Warner Bros. Records to record his debut album that took over two years to release. After releasing his debut album, Come On Kid, through Warner Bros. Records, Leming and the label decided to part ways.
