The Contemporary Museum will celebrate the “next generation” of music in Baltimore with the space-themed Future Party on Friday, June 12, a benefit bash and performance event to support the museum’s Mobtown Modern concert series and the burgeoning New Music genre.

Guests will create their own alien music on the Theremin, an instrument that can be played without touching it. Contests will dare revelers to break out their best robot moves on the dance floor. Live performances by hip hop impresarios Shodekeh and Embody will feature conceptual, genre-blending sounds. Future Party will also include a silent auction with items including beat making lessons, custom ring tones, and a private concert by the Mobtown Modern musicians. Eclectic nosh will be provided by Joe Squared.

Tickets are $40 for Contemporary Museum members; $50 for non-members; and $25 for students with ID.

To purchase tickets, contact Johannis Rivera-Rodriguez at [email protected], or by calling (410) 783-5720. The purchase of tickets to the event is fully tax-deductible.
