Future is a genre-melting hip-hop infused progressive rock band from Washington DC; featuring two extraordinary guitarists a stellar rhythm section and a vibrant young front-man together they deliver an energetic and connected performance every show. Future has a sound drenched in eclecticism each musician adding their own influences to the "wall of sound" style of groove oriented vivid and elevating music.

Since the beginning Future has amazed listeners with their innovative electric sound. People don't usually make comparisons with Future to other bands. I think that is because they really possess a unique and captivating energy. Future intensely delivers an experimentation of sound and you can certainly hear their musical inspirations pouring out when they perform.

"It's a lot of energy transferred," says Gordon Sterling in an interview. "That doesn't necessarily mean jumping around, although when we're playing that hard and heavy, it's definitely about getting a little sweaty. But seriously we feel every single note and word, and we come out there and try hard as hell to convey that."

"Now if your band's name is "Future", you have a lot to live up to don't you? Future takes a genre busing approach to music, switching in and out of and sometimes fusing elements of funk, soul, psychedelia, gospel, hip hop, punk and rock into what often can be a very engaging blend. This could all go to pieces in the hands of those less capable, but Future finds ways to make it work without sounding trite or silly."
-Greg Peeler, Glide Magazine

Self-described as "progressive post-punk hip-hop rock fusion," Northern Virginia's Future comes blaring out of the headphones with a furious burst of energy and doesn't let up. With nods to hip-hop rockers like 311, the unclassified punk funk of Fishbone and pop tendencies reminiscent of Gnarls Barkley, Future's show should be a high-energy rock party!! -Posted in the High Country Press

Modern Thieves may seem like a new sound around town, but they're hardly newcomers to the Washington DC music scene. They came together in early 2010 and instantly broke out with a promising five-track EP and a stream of local performances, including a headlining gig at the 9:30 Club. Singer Ryan Murphy brings a full vocal range and charisma to the already steady, seasoned backdrop of D.C.'s most beloved rock-soul band, Politicks (guitarist Mike Trella and drummer Brendan McCourt) along with new bassist Mike Tony Echols and guitarist Dan Mudge. With multiple decades of professional musicianship between them, these Thieves expertly blend rock, alternative, and dance music into a sultry, pleasantly infectious groove of their own.

Modern Thieves recorded an original EP (entitled MDRN THVS) around the winter holidays and blizzards of 2009/2010 at Inner Ear Studios in Arlington, VA where many seminal punk records were made (Fugazi, Bad Brains, Minor Threat). The band is currently working on their debut full length album, recording with acclaimed jazz pianist Marcus Johnson at his Studio 8121 in Silver Spring, MD. The forthcoming album will demonstrate a more danceable, upbeat sound for Modern Thieves.
