Women In Progress, a women's non-profit, is hosting a large scale fundraiser/gala at the Embassy of Ghana in Washington DC on April 8th from 6-9pm to raise money for women entrepreneurs. The event is open to the public and should be attended by anyone interested in promoting sustainable development in Africa.

Don't miss this exciting opportunity to meet top diplomats and immerse yourself in a new culture (there will be traditional Ghanaian music, entertainment, food and drinks!). The suggested donation is $100 per family.

Under the patronage of the Ambassador of Ghana Fritz Poku, the embassy party will feature entertainment by ?Anansegromma of Ghana?, two local Ghanaians active as artists and teachers with the Wolf Trap Institute of Early Learning through the Arts. They have been featured at the Kennedy Center and the Smithsonian Folklife Festival. The entire family is invited.

The Ghana Café will cater the event, from 6 pm to 9 pm at the embassy at 3512 International Drive, NW. Three types of Ghanaian beer will be available at the cash bar, as well as wine and soft drinks.

With the money raised from the embassy party, women in Ghana will be able to hire and train new staff, invest in new equipment and raw materials, and learn new business and computer skills. Clothing products made by these women will be sold at the event and can also be seen at www.globalmamas.org.

If you would like to attend the embassy party, please contact Brooke at 609-922-0311 or at [email protected]. Contributions may be sent to Emilie Kimball at 7900 Horseshoe Lane, Potomac, MD 20854. Checks should be made out to Women In Progress.
