In place of our regular Philly Rising Open Mic night, please join us for this special evening of live entertainment and help to raise funds for the completion of Philly Rising The Movie, a documentary now in production by stillmotionstudios.

In progress for a year, Philly Rising The Movie will be the second feature-length “Rockumentary-style” film about the Philadelphia music scene directed by Del C. Lukens III. The film follows the progression of the yearlong open stage competition here at World Cafe Live, with hundreds of musicians vying to be named the year-end winner and be awarded recording time, CD replication, a music video, and many other door-opening opportunities that most musicians only dream of. For tonight's fundraiser, invited musical acts will perform throughout the night, in between filmed interviews with musicians as the final piece of the documentary. Come be a part of the movie-making experience, and celebrate the ongoing success of Philly Rising!
