Frostbite and Fireworks on New Year's Eve December 31, 2009

Come celebrate all of the things that did not go right in your life as you join us, the rest of the losers who didn't have $90 to spend on a real New Year's Eve party, as we gather on Navy Pier to wait for the fireworks. There will be cudding in the corner to conserve bodily warmth for those who still have girlfriends. For those who don't - at least there's still coffee, and it costs less than $20/cup, so you'd better buy yours early, before they run out.

After the show, we'll relive the annual tradition of sticking our noses up against the windows to the restaurant upstairs, watching the other half enjoy their $100 / plate dinners while we mouth the words "can I have some more, sir". Our homage to Dickens thus made, we'll then clear out, just in time to hear security call out and ask us "don't you boys ever have somewhere else to be", while our girlfriends sadly shake their heads, knowing the answer to that question all too well.

No reservations are needed. The public domained image comes courtesy of the North Dakota Dept. of Transportation, and will have to do until I have some blizzard pics of my own.
