Essex-born author Piper Terrett and her husband Douglas Smith began growing vegetables and keeping chickens in their back garden in Billericay in 2005. Now based in Hertford, he is setting up his own small-scale loose-leaf salad business, grown along organic lines and locally sold. In this talk, Piper explains their journey from gardeners to small-scale commercial growers.
