Pick up your next great read with just pocket money! The Friends of Marion Carnegie Library will host a sale on Friday, August 14 and Saturday, August 15 from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. at the library.

The sale will include books, DVDs, videotapes, CDs, puzzles and more! Most hardback books are $1 and paperbacks are $.25. Newer editions will have special prices well below market value. All available titles are organized by subject, making shopping easy. There is something for everyone, from children to adults. The library is accepting donations of used books and some other items for the sale. The library also needs volunteers to help with the sale. Some sorting and set up will take place prior to the sale and cashiers are needed on sale days. Anyone may help, not just Friends members. Call for more information on other days and times when help is needed.

The Friends of Marion Carnegie Library is a volunteer group who supports the library in its mission to bring a wide variety of programs and services to the community. The Friends sponsor sales, summer reading programs and library events and activities. Now is an exciting time to join the Friends. The library is remodeling its young adult area, has added a coffee bar and is offering new and continuing programs.

The Friends of Marion Carnegie Library is open to all members of the community. Annual membership is $5 for adults, $2 for students, $7 for families and $25 for businesses. The group also accepts charitable donations. The next Friends meeting is May 20 at 6:30 p.m.
