It offers a perfect opportunity for first time or seasoned visitors to hike the trails or take a scenic bus tour. Free activities and food. Also enjoy contemporary music by the Skunk Cabbage Band and bluegrass music by County Line String Combo, as well as hayrides, geocaching, childrens compass scavenger hunt, air conditioned scenic bus tour with historic commentary, orchard/winery visit, and free pizza/apples. Go Take a Hike offers 11 planned hikes in Erie MetroParks between September 13 and December 13, 2009. Those who complete 7 of the 11 hikes earn an Arkansas walking stick or leather medallion to attach to their walking sticks earned in prior years. Dogs completing the program earn a MetroPark bandana or medallion. Sponsored by the Friends of Erie MetroParks, Frost-Parker Foundation and Firelands Regional Medical Center.
