The first day of Spring for 2006 sees the inaugural "Friday Fourpack"
at the home of the giant rock act, The Tote Hotel. The action kicks off at 9pm with what has to be the most compelling musical experiment in Melbourne: that is GOAT WITCH. We've all heard the hype surrounding the band with three bassists and two insane drummers, but that's not what makes them so special it's what they play and even more so, how they play it! An amazing band with an amazing sound.
Following acts like Goat Witch is what the Friday Fourpack (and it's summer sister, the Sunday Sixpack) is all about ALL KILLER, NO FILLER and doing so is MUSHROOM GIANT, a band that creates a cinematic experience quite unlike anything you've ever heard. Lush ethereal sensuality and awe-inspiring instrumental grandeur. And then, at 11pm, strap yourselves in for the punk thrash onslaught of MAMMAL, featuring ex-Full Scale's Ezekiel Ox. A fusion of blazing guitars, hip hop and metal beats, tight and brutal basslines and seething, revolutionary lyrics, Mammal is a spasm of musical energy that had to happen, and they'll be wiping the floor with it! At the crack of midnight the night closes in with the ethereal metal giants TAILBONE and their power mesh of epic vocals and lush riffage. This is without doubt the best 10 bucks worth of live rock action in the country.
Friday 1st September, doors open at 8pm. THE TOTE HOTEL, 71 Johnston Street (Cnr Johnston & Wellington), Collingwood.
