Freebase is an open, creative-commons licensed, structured database of all kinds of information, with a powerful API and an app development platform for building tools and mashups with our data.

We held our first eveer hack day last November, and it was amazing. Now we’re planning a second Hack Day to be held July 11th here in San Francisco.

Last time round, we had about 70 Freebase developers and contributors in attendance, and ran three simultaneous tracks of unconference talks, as well as free-form hack space and presentations from Freebase staff about new releases. We’ll be doing the same format this time round, and we’ve timed our Hack Day to follow close on the release of Acre 1.0 (due in a couple of weeks), so if you want to find out more about our platform offerings, this will be a great event to attend.

The event's free, and we're providing snacks and lunch. Please sign up here.

Hi, will the new app Tippify be discussed? http://www.tippify.com/

I hope somebody could make a replacement for the Archiportal mashup tool in ACRE. I want to properly place in maps all my favorite buildings in my favorite cities. http://freebaseapps.com/

It'll make the next public restroom mashup app that much easier to use on the new iPhone 3GS.
