As part of the Enterprising Barnsley Project, bmedia would like to invite you to a workshop on ‘Social media for business’ that we are holding on Tuesday 19th January 2010 from 5.30p.m. to 8.15pm at the Barnsley Digital Media Centre, County Way, Barnsley, South Yorkshire, S70 2JW sponsored by Enterprising Barnsley.
This hands-on workshop will cover:
• The Social Web - an introduction.
• What is Twitter? and how does it fit into Social Networking?
• What will it do for my business? - Marketing, Accounting, PR etc.
• Signing up to Twitter
• What to put on my profile page, and standing out from the crowd.
• Do I need an identity for my business as WELL as myself?
• What do I use Twitter for? - some case studies and examples.
• Twitter applications to make my life easier.
• Getting started, and building my network.

The event will be a similar format to the “Third Thursday” seminars bmedia run in Bradford. Pizzas and refreshments will be available with networking throughout the evening.
