Porcupines Gather for Annual Freedom Festival

Lancaster, NH - The Free State Project, an effort to get 20,000 liberty activists to migrate to the state of New Hampshire, will hold its second annual celebration in Lancaster, New Hampshire.

The Porcupine Freedom Festival, also known as "PorcFest", runs from July 23rd through the 31st. Free State Project participants are often referred to as "porcupines", after the group?s mascot.

Roger?s Campground, the largest camp facility in New Hampshire, will again host the event. Roger?s offers both motel rooms and camp sites with all of the amenities. Several other nearby hotels provide further accommodations to suit every preference.

Activities
Attendees will have a wide range of activities to choose from, including activist training, a mock town hall meeting, a rock concert, a tour of selected NH cities, an introduction to the shooting sports, and many others. Alternatively, guests may opt to take in the scenic beauty of the area or to simply relax and socialize with fellow activists in the campground.

Celebrity Guests
Speakers this year include 2004 LP Presidential Candidate Michael Badnarik, Author James Bovard, FSP Founder Jason Sorens, and other members of FSP leadership as well as local community leaders.

Largest Pro-Freedom Event of the Year
Varrin Swearingin, PorcFest Organizer, believes this may be the best-attended libertarian event of the year. "We already have 275 people registered, a 50% increase over this time last year. Based on last year's registrations and attendance, we expect well over 400 participants, making PorcFest the premier pro-freedom event of 2005."

About the FSP
The Free State Project is an agreement among 20,000 pro-liberty activists to move to New Hampshire, where they will exert the fullest practical effort toward the creation of a society in which the maximum role of government is the protection of life, liberty, and property. The success of the Project would likely entail reductions in taxation and regulation, reforms at all levels of government to expand individual rights and free markets, and a restoration of constitutional federalism, demonstrating the benefits of liberty to the rest of the nation and the world.
