SOCRRA, the Southeastern Oakland County Resource Recovery Authority, is offering a free recycling workshop for residents of the SOCRRA member communities. The event, hosted by the Berkley Environmental Advisory Committee, is being held at the Berkley Public Library, 3155 Coolidge, on Monday, March 9 from 6 to 7:30 pm. Residents will learn what items can be curbside recycled, how to make sure the items are recycle ready, and what new items can now be left curbside or brought in to SOCRRA's Drop-Off Center. Recycling creates jobs and fuels the economy, reduces waste and water pollution and helps prevent global warming. For more information about the workshop, call SOCRRA at (248) 288-5150. For more information on the Berkley Environmental Advisory Committee, contact the Berkley City Manager at (248) 658-3350.
