More Details About This Event:

With Free My Ass!, The L.A. Sisters, now in their 13th year, perform both solo and group pieces with a common theme--the ways in which Americans believe themselves to be free are, in actuality, not free--and the Sisters offer where and how freedom can be found, recognized or won. Pieces will be performed by Sister Margaret Snatcher (the L.A. Sisters’ only transgender member), Sister Buffy, Sister Candy, Sister Dixie Wrecked and Sister Unity, who doubles as the show’s director. Also appearing will be Sister Dali, Sister Bubbles, Sister Rusty, Attila the Nun and special guest Ian MacKinnon. The evening will include a video by British and YouTube drag personality Twiggy Birmingham. Proceeds from the show will benefit Highways Performance Space.

Past Sister performances at Highways include The History of Religion, a complete history of world faiths (as according to the flamboyant nuns); Sin, a treatise on the nature of wrongdoing; and Red Leather Ridinghood, a ribald collection of twisted fairy tales.
