FREE LECTURE: In California, the Natives Are Friendly With Isabelle Greene, FASLA April 10, 2010

As opposed to the vision held by many, our native plants can be put to almost any look, from lush, soft and flowing, to sheared hedge, mowed turf, color-filled bed, leafy forest and ferny dell. It’s all in knowing which plants to pull from the vast array of California’s palette. After all, the garden-minded British imported our “exotic “ and wonderful flora into their beautiful gardens – using Ceanothus, Fremontodendron and even poison oak, long before we recognized them as good candidates for our gardens. This inspiring talk willl include images of Ms. Greene’s stunning Southern California landscapes.
