FOR RELEASE: Local comic Matt Kissane to host a nite of "Free Stand Up Comedy" at Lunar Brewing Company in Villa Park on March 11! Hopes to help community
Stand up comic Matt Kissane will host a free comedy show at Lunar Brewing Company in Villa Park on Tuesday March 11. "It's our way of helping out the community and anyone that's lost a job or just fallen upon hard times." Says Kissane a local Villa Park resident and owner of Absolutely Entertainment. "We have done shows there in the past and the crew at Lunar are always great to work with."
If Matt Kissane looks familiar it may be from his work on WGN Morning News where he spent six years as a "Special Guest" working with everyone from Adam West to the cast of X-Men. He's also been featured in several television commercials for Vehix.com, The Room Place and Realize Band. "That's the latest one" he says "I'm a dad doing karate moves with my little daughter, ok she's really not my real daughter but she is adorable." Kissane has done charity work in the past for the Ron Santo Juvenile Diabetes walk and for the Heartwalk of America. "I've always tried to help out charities ever since I was a kid. I would walk for donations and even sold peanuts for the Knights of Columbus! Giving back is something we all can do these days, I've worked with some big names and one thing is for sure, they all want to reach out and help people." Big names for sure! Kissane has worked with or for the likes of NBC, WGN, Tom Brokaw, Cheap Trick, Weird Al Yankovic, Enuff Z'nuff, Zanies Comedy Clubs, Kevin Nealon, The Chicago Bulls and many more.
The show will feature several local comics including Adam Herr, Dan Brennan, Janet Kane and others and Kissane will act as mc/host. Showtime is set for 8pm.
