Free colorectal screenings

Anderson, Indiana - Community Hospital Anderson will provide the public with free take-home colorectal screening kits during the month of March. Those interested in the free screening must call 800-777-7775 to reserve a kit, which can be picked up at the Madison County Cancer Care Center from March 10-28. Participants will then have until April 18 to return their kit and receive results. These kits will be reserved for the first 100 participants who call to reserve one.

Colorectal cancers are the third most frequently diagnosed among men and women and the second leading cause of cancer death. Most colon cancers occur in those 50 and older, but the disease can strike those as young as 18. The American Cancer Society recommends regular colon cancer screening starting at age 50.
