What:
An Open House to celebrate National Creative Arts Therapy Week and learn more about the exciting workshops held at Creative Pier - www.creativepier.com - a brand new holistic arts center which opened its doors in December 2007 in New York City's Greenwich Village.

Meet the staff and workshop facilitators, sit in on a ‘preview’ version of one of our many workshops and create a piece of art you can take home with you!

Why:
During the second week of March, creative arts therapists throughout the United States will be sponsoring special workshops, exhibitions, career days and other events to share their work with the public and with other professions.

The Creative Arts Therapies include art therapy, dance/movement therapy, drama therapy, music therapy, poetry therapy and psychodrama.

The objectives of the creative arts therapies are to foster health, communication and expression; to enhance self-awareness; to promote the integration of emotional, physical, social and cognitive functioning; and to facilitate positive change in human experience and behavior.

Special Edition: Art on Tap

Participate in a variety of individual and group art projects throughout the afternoon including painting, clay sculpting and collage.

Creative Pier, a tranquil, 1,600 square foot studio space with 14-foot ceilings and “inspirational” décor at 833 Broadway at 13th Street, 3rd Floor – elevator building.

Founded in 2007 by Routa Segal, Creative Pier (www.creativepier.com) is a brand new holistic arts therapy center located near Union Square in New York City.

Creative Pier and its team of creative arts therapists offer workshops in artistic expression – theater, music and dance – to assist individuals in the “self-discovery” of their thoughts and feelings in order to improve physical, mental and emotional well-being.

In addition to hosting weekly events, Creative Pier also has “resident artists” who both exhibit and sell their work at the Creative Pier Art Gallery.
