Freddy Jones Band to Rock Out at the Tivoli Theatre May 18, 2012

Downers Grove, IL – The popular Chicago jam band, The Freddy Jones Band, will be rockin’ the stage at the Tivoli Theatre, located at 5021 Highland Ave in downtown Downers Grove, for the Education Foundation of Downers Grove District 58 spring fundraiser. The performance is slated for Friday, May 18, 2012, at 8:30 PM, with doors opening at 6:30pm.
The Freddy Jones Band is compared to the likes of The Eagles, The Band, and The Allman Brothers. The band started out as a “jam band,” according to singer-guitarist Wayne Healy, and then began concentrating on its own material. The group consists of Marty Lloyd (vocals and acoustic guitar), Jim Bonaccorsi (bass), Rob Bonaccorsi (guitar and vocals), Simon Horrocks (drums), and Wayne Healy (vocals and guitar). Capricorn Records signed the group after its self-titled and self-released 1992 debut album sold more than 10,000 copies. Throughout the ‘90s, The Freddy Jones Band was in full swing with hits “Waiting for the Night” and “North Ave. Wake-Up Call.” The Rolling Stones praised the Freddy Jones Band when they said that the band was a “fine line between schizophrenic jam band and sensibly-minded pop-rock.”

The Education Foundation of Downers Grove District 58, Inc. is an independent, 501(c)(3) non-profit Corporation, established in 2002 to obtain and distribute financial and other resources for the enhancement of education programs at the thirteen schools of Downers Grove School District 58. The Foundation was organized exclusively for educational purposes to provide supplemental funds for educational programs for the School District.
