"...chief eskimo of kingdom chill? ? Time Out London

Conceptual founder and artistic vision behind The Big Chill - UK based club, festival, east London bar and record label, has arguably been the original inspiration for today's chill-out boom, and indisputably its cutting-edge.

Pete has produced eight mix albums for the Big Chill ? one of them with long-time chill collaborator Tom Middleton ? and DJed all over the world. The Big Chill festival has worked with over two thousand artists, building to its current capacity of 35, 000 and has played a major part in giving early bookings to such names as Goldfrapp, Talvin Singh, Amy Winehouse, Gotan Project, Hexstatic, Röyksopp, Zero 7, Lemon Jelly, Kinobe and Fila Brazillia.

Pete?s musical vision encompasses a hugely diverse range of influences, ranging from folk funk, from classical and world music, taking in all manner of electronica and ambient on the way. Pete?s preference is for playing as chilled as possible ? music for listening rather than for dancing, which stands him apart from the crowd in no uncertain terms.

Pete has recently been in the studio with a variety of live musicians putting the finishing touches to his debut album, slated for 2006.
