Arc Studios & Gallery invites the public back for its closing reception of "Four-Squared." Don't miss the special artists' panel from 1:00 - 2:00 pm featuring Kristina Quinones, Fernando Reyes, Denise Laws and Sandra Yagi. This is an opportunity to meet the artists in this widely popular exhibition.

"Four-Squared" is the brainchild of co-curators, Matthew Frederick and Michael Yochum, who invited 16 local San Francisco/ Bay Area artists to each create a coherent series of 16 small works that reflected their artistic visions. The exhibition showcases all 16 series - a total of 256 works - by Brett Amory, Blair Bradshaw, Mitchell Confer, Sidnea D'Amico, Rebecca Fox, Ivy Jacobsen, Denise Laws, Michael McConnell, Brian McDonald,
Molly Meng, Silvia Poloto, Kristina Quinones, Fernando Reyes, Monika Steiner, Marcia Stuermer and Sandra Yagi.

Matthew Frederick is a founder of Project Three, an artist collective in the Mission, where he maintains his studio. From 2007-2009, he was a partner in the Reaves Gallery. His unconventional landscape paintings have been shown in commercial galleries, universities and public
exhibitions nationally and his work is numerous prominent collections. He completed his fine art studies at Chico State and Sacramento State Universities.

Michael Yochum completed his undergraduate and graduate studies in art history on the East Coast and in Japan. Moving to San Francisco in 1979, he diverted into a career in finance. In 2005, he recharged his long-standing interest in local art and artists, volunteering with ArtSpan, the Bay Area artist-member organization that produces SF Open Studios and brings art to under-served SF elementary schools with its Art for City Youth program. He is currently the Chairman of that organization.

In 2009, the co-curators, along with artist-partners, Priscilla Otani and Stephen C. Wagner, founded the ARC Studios and Gallery complex.
