Jerzy Grotowski, famed Polish
Laboratory Theatre, taught that "Everything must come from and through
the body." Grotowski believed that: "Our entire body is memory and it
is by means of the body memory that impulses are released."

In this class you'll discover the pleasure of improvising with your
whole self: body, voice and imagination. We'll explore exercises and
structures focused on sensory and spatial awareness, ensemble movement
and communicating through physical life, practicing techniques that
make scenes physically alive and visually compelling. We'll touch on
character transformation through studies of shape, gait, breathing and
gesture.

Organized by BATS Center for Improvisational Theatre
