You know when you?re walking down the street and you spot some random piece of paper floating around? A page of a letter, a shopping list with a note on it, some kid?s paper from class? Do you pick it up? Do you read it? Me, very nosy, yes. As writing goes, these pieces of paper, they?re little ?writing orphans,? cut off from their original life, cut off from everything that gave them meaning, but still there, with a lot on their minds and a lot to say. A few years back, Davy Rothbart decided that someone, somewhere, should do a magazine that was made up entirely of this kind of writing. And then, through sheer force of will, he became that somebody and created FOUND MAGAZINE. (Ira Glass, THIS AMERICAN LIFE) We?re immensely excited to host the Austin Found Party, and Davy?d like to extend a personal invitation for all of you to bring in your own finds to share at the show, right alongside some of his favorites from his own collection!

Seriously folks, this magazine is one of the crowning achievements of western civilization. It will change your life. Check out the website. Please bring in your Austin finds too. We'll post 'em to the website, and audience favorite gets a real-life trophy that we found at the dump with a slapped on engraved tag crowning you "Find King of Travis County 2005" plus a free FOUND book! Get findin'!
