Fort Worth Symphony: Ellis Island, the Dream of America March 6, 2011

The achingly beautiful Adagio for Strings, a masterpiece of modern classical music, opens the concert followed by the composer's Pulitzer Prize-winning concerto. Boyer's Ellis Island celebrates the American dream, using actors, projected historical images from the Ellis Island archives, and music to recreate the American immigrant experience.
