Canada's responses to the forces of international globalization have not led to improvements in the health of Canadians. Our communities are changing, inequality is increasing, and economic and social disparities are affecting all of us in many ways that we do not fully understand.

Population health is affected by much more than health care. This multi-disciplinary conference launches a national network of researchers from 10 Canadian universities determined to improve our understanding of the affects of globalization on the social determinants of health in our metropolitan areas.

Community activists, public servants, health care providers, settlement workers, students, urban planners, public policy researchers, and social workers will all find this conference to be of great interest.

Co-sponsored by the Parkland Institute and the Canadian Institute of Health Research.
