"Foot Foot are like a tiny folk orchestra- building totally beautiful and layered arrangements via slide guitar, found objects,et al. Their songs possess an oddly classic feeling and nerve tingling shimmer, and they are undeiably one of the most exciting young bands from the City of Angels." - Portland Mercury

Emily White's vocal stylings are at once evocative and atmospheric. Veering away from the cliches one might expect to find filed under folk, her lyrics and songs are short films in and of themselves. Emily's voice, sultry without being cloying or affected, brings to mind Chan Marshall (Cat Power), Hope Sandoval (Mazzy Star), and Billie Holiday, in it's ability to make even the most saturated of audiences stop and take notice. There is something immistakably genuine about Ms. White's gift. Her stage presence is distinctly lacking in exhibitionism- which is not to say she is lacking in presence, but more simply, that there is something so natural about Emily's way with music, with the way these songs escape, one is sure that the songs chose her as much as she chose the songs.
