Ronald Reagan Building and International Trade Center – 13th & Pennsylvania on the Woodrow Wilson Plaza
Washington, District of Columbia

Capital Harvest on the Plaza (CHoP) and the DC Metro Area Dietetic Association (DCMADA) are coming together to celebrate Food Day, a national food movement dedicated to encouraging Americans to “eat real” with healthy, affordable and sustainable foods. Aiming to change the way people eat, the CHoP market will host a day-long celebration of “real food” on Monday, October 24 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Some of DC’s best chefs will host cooking demonstrations throughout the day, showing guests how to create healthy, sustainable yet delicious meals at home. Chefs include Todd Gray of Equinox, Jason Maddens of Central, Frederick De Pue of Smith Commons and Xavier Deshayes of the Ronald Reagan Building and International Trade Center. CHoP market vendors and farmers such as All Things Olive, Plum Good, Eula’s Savory Soups and Lehigh View Farm will be on-site to sell their sustainably grown produce and natural foods to guests.

There will also be several dieticians on-site from organizations such as the Women, Infant and Children Education Program (WIC), the National Institute of Health (NIH) and DCMADA to educate attendees on proper nutrition and how to make healthy eating choices.
