A treasury of Scottish riches, HIGHLAND AYRES complements Folger Theatre's MACBETH (on stage February 28-April 6). Traditional and courtly, simple and sophisticated songs from the 16th and 17th centuries, Scottish music for pipes and fiddle, and music from the French allies of the Scots, preserved only in Edinburgh, explore medieval accounts of battle. With baritone William Sharp and period instrumentalists. April 18-20.

Robert Aubry Davis, host of WETA's Around Town, leads a free, lively discussion with the performers before the Friday concert at 7 p.m.
