Work with master binder Don Dehoff on one of the most noticeable details of any book project. Foil stamping on a book cover immediately draws attention to itself but there are a few tricks to get it right. This workshop will demonstrate techniques to get the most out of foil stamping using Brass type as well as Ludlow type (email keepsakebindery (at) roadrunner.com if you would like a list of typefaces and sizes available). Decorative Ornaments are also available for use. Lock up the type in the Kensol chase, pick a color foil, and emboss the type on paper. If you would like to make a case (cover), and emboss it, that would be fine. (Keep in mind that some material is sized and will not allow the foil to transfer. Test embossing on extra or scrap is recommended.) Signing a liability release form will also be required. Bring your own lunch for the lunch break.
