Oaklands, Oaklands Road
Haywards Heath, England RH16 1SS

June 2012 will mark the fourth Armed Forces Day and an opportunity for the residents of Mid Sussex to express their support for our Armed Forces. Building on the success of last year, when hundreds of thousands of people attended events across the United Kingdom, we would again like to mark the occasion with a flag raising ceremony at the Council’s offices at Oaklands Road, Haywards Heath, inviting the widest possible cross section of our service men and women, veterans, cadet forces and their families to this event to say thank you.

There is free parking on site and in surrounding streets, including disabled bays. Members of the public should assemble at the car park in Oaklands Road from 10:50am for the ceremony at 11:00am. Refreshments for invited participants and guests will afterwards be served in the Members’ Lounge of Oaklands House. Standard Bearers, Presidents and Chairmen as well as veterans of all ex-Service organisations are welcome and asked to wear their medals. Serving Armed Forces personnel are especially welcome and strongly encouraged to wear uniform. If you know of anyone, please extend this invitation to them.

Would any organisations wishing to attend in an official capacity please be kind enough to notify the Council by letter, email or telephone by Thursday, 14th June.

We very much look forward to hearing from you and seeing you at Oaklands on the day.
