FLUX Screening Series at the Hammer Museum
Thursday, November 20, 2008 8-11pm

Flux and the Hammer Museum present a quarterly screening series featuring innovative short films, music videos, features, filmmaker retrospectives and the most visual work from around the globe. The November screening spotlights two incredibly talented directors: Martin de Thurah and Nacho Vigalondo and one amazing music talent: DJ Bunny Ears. As part of this month's program, de Thurah will present the U.S. Premiere of his short Young Man Falling plus his best music videos, and Vigalonda will share some of his rare short films. The evening will include a courtyard after-party.

Martin de Thurah
Danish filmmaker Martin de Thurah's music video for Carpark North Human won the audience award 2005 at RESFEST and went on to win a Grammy at the Danish Music Awards in 2006 and a Grand Prix in the Festival International des art du clip/ province 2006. That same year de Thurah won Best New Director at the CADS in London and was selected for the Res 10.

Nacho Vigalonda
Spanish director Nacho Vigalonda was nominated for an Oscar in 2005 for his award-winning short film 7:35 in the Morning. His first feature film Timecrimes hits theaters on December 12th.

DJ Bunny Ears is the alter-ego of man of multi-talents Eric David Johnson. He works as a music supervisor, filmmaker, writer, musician, artist, photographer and producer. With his former band, Pulseprogramming, Johnson performed internationally at venues including San Francisco’s MOMA, Chicago’s MCA and Barcelona’s electronic music festival, Sonar. His new music company Living Breathing is based in Santa Monica and London.

Event Highlights for Thursday, November 20, 2008:
7pm: Box Office Opens and Pre-Screening Reception. Hammer Café and Bar will be open.
8pm: Screening and Filmmaker Presentations.
10pm: After-party with guest DJ Bunny Ears (Living Breathing). Hammer Café and Bar will be open.

Admission is free, RSVP is suggested. Seating is first come, first served. RSVP does not guarantee seating. Box office opens at 7PM. The new HAMMER CAFE will be selling food and drinks all night.
