FlowFest: Be in the flow of life! April 23, 2011

FlowFest is a springtime gathering celebrating the act of being in the flow of life. It is designed to inspire everyBODY to move, play, integrate, breathe, vibe up and learn through fun and pleasure. A myriad of experiential movement modalities – from circus arts to tai chi to ecstatic dance – are offered to make joyful, embodied living accessible and inviting to folks of all ages and walks of life.

The setting is the urban lakeside at beautiful White Rock Lake in Dallas with activities offered outdoors along the shore and beneath the trees, and inside the Bath House Cultural Center where an intimate theatre setting is abuzz. Vendors offer food, wares and services on the back porch overlooking the lake.

The atmosphere of levity, creativity, and playful cultural progressiveness entices folks to “come play!” at over a half-dozen vortexes where teachers and performers share their passion in improvisational dance, facilitated dance, belly/world dance, meditative movement, yoga, drumming and circus arts.

Experience seasonal flow with a Maypole and labyrinth. Enter a raffle for a 10-speed bicycle and experience the new elliptical stationary bikes. A storytelling hut, children’s area and art demonstration round things out.

The result is a beautiful tapestry woven of live music, movement, dance, drumming, art, spoken word and integrally conscious living. This is an eco-conscious/friendly and awareness-raising event that’s all about a holistic and embodied approach to emotional, spiritual and physical health.
