Flora Fauna Spirit- An exhibition of Indigenous Art from India March 18, 2012

In early 2011, Clive Snook and AryanKrishnan decided to travel around India to meet indigenous artists and artisans. Through their journeys and interactions withthese art practitioners,they couldn’t resist the urge to collect work they really liked. Knitting Circle was forming in this period. As they got more exposure to the diversity of styles and unifying themes in these art forms, their collection was also growing. Being with Gond artists of Madhya Pradesh, Dhokra artisans from Bastar and Chattisgarh or Pata Chitrakars of West Bengal, they felt the harmony of spirit and nature in their life and art. Hence the theme of the exhibition flora, fauna and spirit.
