Golden Lane, Dublin 8
Dublin, Dublin

Hey there!

Do you like taking photos? Do you like Flickr? Do you like meeting other Flickr members? YES?! then read on!

Flickr is having a meet-up in Dublin to walk around, take photos, talk about photography, and there might even some sweet schwag! Come join me, Jake, for photowalk at the main gates of Trinity College and the surrounding Temple Bar area on September 8th and 6 P.M. This invite is open to any one that likes to take photos. The plan so far is meet up at the main gate of Trinity College, walk around the campus, then head out to the Temple Bar area. After that we can all end up at a local pub where we can hang out, and talk about photography or anything else.

I have never been to Dublin before, so I am open to ideas on where to go and what to take photos of. So feel free to email me with ideas or suggestions!

*UPDATE!* Please tag the photos taken at the meet up with "Dublin Photowalk 2011" so that we can all keep track of the photos taken!

Is there going to be any way for stragglers to find out where you are and catch up later.
I'm going to shoot Laytown races in the afternoon, so am unlikely to be back in Dublin in time for the 6pm start. But I could be tempted by the idea of a few beers later.

I really wish I could tell you where we will end up. If we stay in the temple bar area, I would say to look for a bunch of photogs in a pub talking shop!

My access to the web is limited since I don't have a smartphone that can be used in Ireland. If I have a chance, I will try and update where we end up!

This sounds like a very good idea. I will be travelling in Ireland starting later in September, and would be interested to join on activities like this one.

Count me in, sounds like fun. A favorite that's not *that* far from Trinity is the Samuel Beckett Bridge - walk up to the Liffey from Trinity, turn right along the quays and you get a great view across to the Customs House. Beckett Bridge is a bit further down; if you cross over and head back, you also pass the Jeanie Johnston famine ship and the famine memorial (as well as directly past the Customs House).

Not that that's one of my favourite walks. :) Temple Bar is fun for photos too. Should be good!

I don't know for sure just yet but I will definitely try to make it Thursday...I'm never aware of any Flickr meet-ups happening here in Ireland so this should be good!
