Flickl is a collaboration of Bristol-based photographers who first met as part of a global on-line photographic community. Images and ideas that existed only as pixels on a screen have been transformed into real people showing real photographs in a real exhibition space.

The contributing photographers cover a wide range of age, background, experience and outlook. Despite this, or perhaps because of it, they have influenced each other and enjoyed the benefits of shared ideas.

The variety of photographs reflects the diversity of the contributors; while there is a broad Bristol theme to the photographs, many different subjects and styles are represented. There are semi-abstracted urban details, long-exposure nightscapes and surprising interpretations of familiar sights. There is also some intimate portrait work, adding a human context to the representations of the city.
