Meeting Topic: Integrating Flex Clients with RESTful Services By Erik Onnen

Abstract: This talk will discuss the nuances of integrating applications built on the Adobe Flex platform with RESTful web services. The talk will begin with a brief background on RESTful architectures in general and why they are of benefit. Next, the talk will cover how to create clients of RESTful services on the Flex platform as well as pitfalls and time savers to keep in mind when integrating the two technologies.

Finally, the talk will demonstrate the creation of a RESTful service and a lightweight Flex client to consume the resources managed by the service.

Erik has a decade of experience building distributed systems fronted by web-delivered systems. He has extensive experience improving his agile practices with Java, Linux and Open Source software in general.
