Coinciding with harvest time, The Flavours of Herefordshire Festival celebrates all that is scrumptious about the county for food and drink lovers. Now in its 7th year, for 2012 the festival will be in a beautiful new location in Hereford City centre, in the newly refurbished grounds of Hereford Cathedral, the Castle Green, High Town and linking streets.
Food shopping pavilions, farmers’ markets, demonstrations in the live cookery theatres, talks, competitions, children’s’ entertainment, music and a wealth of events are all to be enjoyed over an exciting weekend at this free entry festival.
Producers will be exhibiting their home-grown, artisan made food and drink, giving you the chance to meet the makers, growers and chefs behind the county’s very best flavours and buy the freshest ingredients to take home.
Appearing with live demonstrations in our exclusive celebrity theatre (entry charge may apply) will be famous faces from TV cookery including from The Great British Bake-Off much loved culinary author Mary Berry, acclaimed restaurateur and Ready Steady Cook favourite Tony Tobin, and the wacky and wonderful children’s gastronaut Stefan Gates.
Cook-offs and challenges throughout the Festival could see you participating yourselves or simply judging on the taste tests and putting your vote to the Flavours of Herefordshire award winners.
Take in the shops, restaurants, bars and tearooms of Hereford’s historic city as you soak up the atmosphere of this vibrant event, and discover the picturesque river walk along the Wye and playing fields nearby.
